Ok – don’t hate me. You can choose to ignore this preschool bunny song or you can chose to embrace it and the potential that you’ll hear a lot of it.
I do not know what it is about this song that preschoolers love. Perhaps is the hint of danger or rebellion. Maybe it’s the silly factor. Or maybe it’s just that the main character is so crazy and gets turned into a goon at the end. I suppose it could also be the presence of the good fairy. Whatever it is, this is an instant favorite with my students and always a highly requested number.
So, drumroll please. Introducing…
Little Bunny Foo Foo
Said Bunny spends the song getting in trouble with a good fairy until he eventually gets turned into a goon. There isn’t much else to this song, other than the frequent explanation of what a “goon” is (I usually say it’s a “silly goose!”). It’s fun, it’s silly, and might lead to some interesting discussions on the consequences of a bunny’s actions.
I use the Wee Sing version of this song. I spent some time looking for an additional version, but just couldn’t find one I liked as much. It’s on their Silly Songs
album.
